CTF is working hard to secure the support of critical resources from within and outside of the region. The scope of our relationships with supporters like these is constantly expanding to help us fulfill our mission toward successful technology transfer throughout the Paso del Norte. To date, our partners include:

Los Alamos National Bank

As a long term member of the Los Alamos community they have had a long history with LANL and with a variety of technology commercialization and economic development initiatives over the years.

Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation

Similarly, LACDC has entered a number of support agreements with LANL over the years and has been a leader in providing entrepreneurial guidance and physical resources to support technology commercialization over the years.

Glenn Kline/Battelle Ventures

Glenn was one of the founders of Academy Funds which focused on technology transfer out of North Carolina based universities. He is now a partner with Battelle Ventures who has a long history of successful technology transfer out of the national labs. He is based at Oakridge and has funded a number of start-ups based on Oakridge technologies. David Blivin invested in Academy Funds through his fund (Southeast Interactive), served on Glenn’s board and co-invested in an Academy investment.

Peter Dickstein

Peter was a recent visiting entrepreneur at Los Alamos National Labs. Mr. Dickstein has a twenty-plus year track record in California as a CEO, CFO, and strategic/financial consultant with portfolio companies of top venture firms and corporations based there. He has led and successfully exited start-up companies, served on boards and played lead roles on dozens of financial transactions. His experience and California presence, in conjunction with his tenure and relationships at LANL and knowledge of the New Mexico landscape are seen as an asset related to CFG’s strategy in New Mexico.

DLA Piper

Jim Montgomery is a senior partner with DLA Piper, one of the country’s leading venture focused law firms. Mr. Montgomery and Mr. Blivin worked closely on a number of companies at Southeast Interactive and have maintained a supportive relationship.

Savvian

Todd Carter was President at Robinson Stephens and is now one of the founders and leaders of GCA Savvian, one of the country’s leading technology investment banks.

Five Pillars

Joan Myers is the managing director of Five Pillars. She and Mr. Blivin worked together in a supportive relationship while she was CEO of NCTA – North Carolina’s Technology Association. She is a national leader in security and defense consulting and technology transfer with security clearances and direct relationships at the top of the FBI, CIA and Special Forces. She was a founder of DSTA (Defense and Security Technology Accelerator) in Fayetteville, NC; securing over $5 million in state sponsorship funding.

CXO Network

Jay Allen founded and leads the CXO network. The CXO Network was founded in Denver but now is an international organization. Jay has agreed to bring visibility of the region to his CXO Network and support the building of such a network in the region.

Bill Nunn

Bill is CEO of the Nordic American Group. He has a national and international history of technology transfer out of national labs, including LANL, and universities through his relationships with many of the nation’s top security and defense companies. He is in the process of relocating the headquarters of his company to New Mexico.

Emergent Technologies

Emergent is one of the country’s leading technology transfer companies in the life sciences area. They are currently extending their presence into New Mexico through their close relationship with David Schmidly, new president of the University of New Mexico.

Korn Ferry

Victor Arias is a senior client partner at Korn Ferry, the world's leading search firm.  Mr. Arias boasts more than a decade of executive recruitment experience gained through working at several of the world’s most preeminent search firms. His clients, which range from medium-sized to major global firms, benefit greatly from his deep knowledge of Latin America and expertise in the area of diversity.

Southeast TechInventures

Karen LeVert is the founder and leader of STI, a technology transfer focused firm based in North Carolina, but with national reach. STI focuses on SBIR’s as a way of providing initial sponsorship to innovation from Universities or elsewhere and has a SBIR Phase I success rate double the national average.

Square 1 Bank

Square 1 is the second leading venture lending firm in the country.  Cottonwood's co-founder has a long history working with Square 1 across multiple initiatives.
